This year isn’t even over yet and has been one of profound change for me. In some ways you sort of expect it, life after all is about the shifting seasons, aging, gaining wisdom, adapting (or not) to changing circumstances.
There was a really great post on the Wakeup World website about these changes. We’re all feeling it, but “The new paradigm isn’t coming, it’s already here. The collective shift has now reached a crucial tipping point and, for many souls on the planet, a new way of learning, manifesting and expressing is becoming the new way of life.”
With this full moon in Taurus, I’m looking deep within myself but not in the self-reflective, navel-gazing way I might be a little known for… I’m looking deep within for new, large stores of energy, that slow moving earth energy that I normally sip with a straw. As the last supermoon of the year, and a moon with some themes of new beginnings and renewal, with the conjunct of Venus and Jupiter, I’m digging deep for the energy to help foment the birth of new things, sprinkling it around personally, professionally and within my community.
Over the course of this year, I’ve lost two close companion animals, something that still overwhelms me on occasion. But I’ve also made new connections with people, and made the commitment to devote myself to more formal training with the Temple of Witchcraft tradition. In doing so, I’ve discovered things about myself I never would have anticipated. One lesson I’m still working on is increasing my capacity to love and accept myself, which I do now more than ever.
I attended the combined Sacred Space/Between the Worlds conference this past March, and the call was to community, to take the message home and build up our communities. As an introvert, I’ve struggled with this one, but I feel like I’ve made great connections this year and as of this past week, we had our first successful meetup in several years, with new and seasoned practitioners showing up. I’m happy to report that the energy was very positive and in the spirit of cooperation. More to come on this huge endeavor but I’m encouraged, and if there are any Palm Beach County readers who would like to get in touch please contact me.
While that outwardly creative energy is going on, I’ve been experiencing a recommitment both to my personal writing as well as my ‘public’ writing. This post is the first step towards renewing my blogging about my pagan journey, which I pursue mostly out of the love of writing but also to share my experience and thoughts, in the hopes that it connects with others. I think that I get caught in my head frequently, which prevents me from posting as much as I’d like. In the coming months, I hope to change that.
Also, my books. Some of you who know me may also know that I’ve been writing, editing, and writing and editing (and writing and editing) novels (plural) for years. Because I’ve never felt that they were done, or not quite right, I’ve fallen into a pattern of self-sabotage. My constructive energy has been blurred into procrastination, to the point that I stalled out. So in the interest of breaking that energy, I’m going to hire an editor for my first book, so I can get it out of my energetic space and into the world, once and for all. I’m very excited to be doing this, and I look forward to giving progress updates on that as it comes along. It’s still likely to be a long process, but one that will finally see some powerful, creative kenaz energy.
I’ve heard from a lot of people about the huge changes that have happened for them this year, I’d love to hear what’s changed for you.
“The framework and structures for a contributionist society now need to be built, and these new structures require us to add our personal gifts, talents, energy and skills.” I’m ready to step away from our fear-based culture and towards our future. It won’t be easy, and we may have to dare to walk amongst the shadows but we can do it, together.

I am glad to be reading all this! It is a period of adaptation and growth for a lot of, I think, and so far we seem to be dealing with it in a good way. Here’s to hoping our community grows healthy and strong… And hoping to read those books at some point!
